Shivraj nods in pay hike for MP employees

Adding yet another feather to his much adorned chief ministerial cap, Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday in an official communication said benefits of the sixth pay commission recommendations would be made available to state government employees in Madhya Pradesh starting January 2006.

The disbursement of the backdated salary raise will be decded at a late date, but emoluments from September1, 2008 to February 28, this year will be paid along with the monthly salary on April one.

The decision will benefit around five lakh government employees in the state.

The decision will further benefit three lakh pensioners and there would be a proportionate increase in salaries of government school teachers and Panchayat Secretaries.
