Extend benefits in rural areas though schemes’ convergence with MNREGA

Bhopal: Benefits should be provided to maximum number of people in rural areas though schemes’ convergence with MNREGA. Strict action should be taken against negligent employees. These directives were given by MNREGA Commissioner and Secretary Panchayats & Rural Development Dr. Ravindra Pastor at a meeting of Zila Panchayat CEOs at Academy of Administration here today. At the meeting, information was given about schemes being implemented by Panchayats and Rural Development Department through convergence and difficulties were also redressed.

Dr. Pastor informed about upgradation and development of villagers and rural areas through public works and beneficiary-oriented schemes by converging other schemes with MNREGA. He gave tips to Zila Panchayat Chief Executive Officers regarding labour management for development works, work management, financial management and systemising MES. Dr. Pastor said that pace of rural development can be accelerated further through smooth implementation of these 4 factors. Directing to take strict action against officers-employees guilty of putting hurdles in development activities and making available employment to job card holders, Dr. Pastor said that necessary initiative should be taken immediately for discontinuing services of such people. If necessary, FIR should also be lodged against them.

CEOs should provide leadership

Dr. Pastor asked CEOs of Zila Panchayats to come forward and provide leadership for rural development. Their emotional attachment to rural development works will result in far-reaching success. He said that system of rural development should be automated. Every officer and employee should be committed to accomplish his work automatically.

Restore due rights to Gram Rozgar Sahayaks

Dr. Pastor advised officers to continue to tap communication sources in public interest. Taking serious note of a Gram Rozgar Sahayak of Rewa district appealing on Facebook to restore his due rights, Dr. Pastor asked Rewa Zila Panchayat’s CEO to make available suitable job work as per job chart to concerning Gram Rozgar Sahayak.

Commissioner Panchayat Raj Shri Raghuveer Shrivastava, CEO of State Rural Livelihoods Mission Shri L.M. Belwal, Director Watershed Mission, State Programme Officer, State Water and Sanitation Mission Smt. Hemwati Burman, Mission Director Integrated Social Security Mission Shri Sanket Bhondve, Chief Engineer, Rural Engineering Service Shri P.K. Katare also gave detailed information about convergence with MNREGA.
