CM Inaugurates Polio Campaign
Bhopal — Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated ‘National Pulse Polio Campaign-10 January 2010’ at his residence in the state capital on Sunday morning by administering oral polio vaccines drops to five children. The pulse polio programme is to be conducted in two phases in all the 50 districts of the state.
Under the campaign all 5 crore children in the age range of 0-5 years will be administered polio drops. During the first phase on Sunday polio drops were administered to children at booths while in the second phase on January 11 & 12, polio drops will be administered to children at their doorstep.
For successful conduct of the campaign, 45 thousand 307 booths were set up, 2021 mobile teams were deployed and 2589 transit booths were established. About one lakh 81 thousand 227 vaccination workers and 9061 supervisors were deployed.
According to Health Secretary SR Mohanty, active cooperation of teachers of School Education Department and Anganwadi workers and assistants Woman and Child Development Department is being taken in the campaign.
