After 18 districts, 24X7 power supply now in Shivpuri district

Bhopal: Work of ensuring 24X7 power supply under Atal Jyoti Abhiyan is underway one-by-one in every district of Madhya Pradesh. Under the scheme, 24-hour power supply has been provided to domestic consumers in Jabalpur, Mandla, Shahdol, Anuppur, Umaria, Burhanpur, Bhopal, Balaghat, Ratlam, Dhar, Alirajpur, Sheopur, Panna, Mandsaur, Rewa, Hoshangabad, Rajgarh and Ujjain districts.. In the series, the Abhiyan is going to be launched in 19thdistrict Shivpuri on May 14, 2013 at 2 pm. On the occasion, a consumer and panchayat convention will also be held.

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister of State for Energy (independent charge) Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia will launch the Abhiyan. Energy and Mineral Resources Development Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla and Minister of State for General Administration Shri Kanhaiyalal Agrawal and MP Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia will be special guests on the occasion. Zila Panchayat Chairman Shri Jitendra Kumar Jain, MLAs Shri Makhanlal Rathore, Shri Ramesh Prasad Khatik, Shri Prahlad Bharti, Shri Devendra Kumar Jain (Patte Wale), Shri K.P. Singh (Kakkaju) and Nagar Palika Chairperson Smt. Rishika Asthana will also be present.
Rs. 30033 lakh has been spent in Shivpuri district on implementation of schemes under Atal Jyoti Abhiyan. Under the Abhiyan, 130 feeders of 11 KV capacity were separated benefiting 1320 villages. Under major infrastructure works, 27 new 33/11 KV power sub-stations were set up, capacity of 339 distribution transformers was increased and 4167 new distribution transformers were installed. In all, 33 KV lines have been laid in 351 kilometers, 11 KV lines in 3676 kilometers and aerial cables in 2553 kilometers. This has led to increase in number of domestic consumers by 28 thousand 387.
Shivpuri district’s population is 17 lakh 25 thousand 818 and total number of villages 1320. Number of power consumers is one lakh 59 thousand 592 including 22 thousand 80 permanent agriculture pumps consumers. In the district, power load is 228 MW, 75 feeders of 33/11 KV and 174 of 11 KV. Length of 33 KV lines is 911kilometers, 11 KV lines 6817 kilometers, low-tension lines (aerial bunch cable) 2553 kilometers and low-tension lines (on conductor) 5051 kilometers.
Supply of power for 24 hours through Atal Jyoti Abhiyan will bring about prosperity and promote agriculture & economic growth and communication industries. People’s living standard will improve with increase in educational facilities, health facilities and availability of more jobs.
