Bhopal: So far, 23 thousand houses have been constructed for poor urban slum dwellers under Integrated Housing & Slums Development Programme. A sum of Rs. 43 crore was spent on the programme last year. Under the programme, proper housing and basic amenities are provided to poor families residing in urban slums. So far, 56 projects costing Rs. 376 crore 28 lakh have been sanctioned under the scheme.
The Urban Administration & Development Department is implementing the programmes in the towns in entire state except the towns selected under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission. Under the project, 80 percent funds are being provided by the Union Government, 10 percent by the State Government and 10 percent by concerning local bodies.
