50 new veterinary dispensaries to be opened this year

Bhopal: For ensuring veterinary health, state-level veterinary hospital, divisional polyclinics, district, development block and village level veterinary hospitals and dispensaries are being run in Madhya Pradesh. The State Government will open 50 new veterinary dispensaries this year. For this, Rs. 4 crore 97 lakh 3 thousand has been provisioned in the current departmental budget. Similarly, 123 veterinary dispensaries will be upgraded to veterinary hospitals at a cost of Rs. 13 crore 14 lakh 17 thousand.

At present, 795 veterinary hospitals and 1,666 veterinary dispensaries are being run in the state. Besides, there are also 38 mobile veterinary units, 27 semen centres, 22 disease analysis labs, one unit each for food & mouth disease, veterinary health and organic production institute, serum institute, Deputy Director Chicken Pox Epidemic, 19 veterinary check-posts, 10 trailing units, 7 units each of vigilance and intensive vaccination, 2 disease control teams, 5 frozen semen banks and one each animal control venue and frozen semen bull station in the state.
