Christmas get-together held at CM’s residence

Bhopal: Christmas get-together was held amidst fervour and enthusiasm at CM’s residence in keeping with the tradition of respect to all religions here today. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj has set the tradition of celebrating festivals of every religion at his official residence.

It was the first Christmas get-together under the tradition of respect to all religions at CM’s residence after coming to power for the third time.

Large number of members of Christian community were present on the occasion. Bhopal’s Archbishop Shri Leo Carnelio said that Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has set example of respect to all religions in entire India. Shri Chouhan is following the tradition of carrying all religions with him. The Chief Minister is engaged in progress of the state. The Christian community stands by the Chief Minister in this pious work and extends full cooperation in state’s development. Shri Carnelio congratulated Shri Chouhan and members of his council of ministers on assuming office for the third time.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that government and society can move ahead hand in hand. Describing Christmas as a festival of humanity, he said that several global problems can be solved through Jesus Christ’s messages of compassion, love, peace and mercy. His teachings can transform society. Shri Chouhan said that Chief Minister means public servant and public service is a holy work. He said that his first priority is to ensure state’s people’s prosperity and develop the station with cooperation of all. Referring to Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana and Ladli Laxmi Yojana, he said that these schemes are based on Jesus Christ’s message.

Proposing a vote of thanks, spokesman of Catholic Confederation Ft. Anthoy P.J said that Chief Minister’s spirit of service has paved his way to success on every front.

Former Chief Minister Shri Kailash Joshi, Forest, Bio-diversity and Bio-technology Minister Shri Gaurishankar Shejwar, Labour, Backward Classes & Minorities Welfare Minister Shri Antar Singh Arya, Revenue & Rehabilitation Minister Shri Rampal Singh, Member of Parliament Madam Lobo, Minorities Commission’s member Shri Anand Bernard, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan’s wife Smt. Sadhna Singh, Bishops of Khandwa, Jabalpur, Indore and Jhabua, representatives of various religions including Gyani Duleep Singh, Shahar Qazi Bhopal, Buddhist religious leader and Guru Atmamanda Ji were also present on the occasion. At the outset of the programme, the Chief Minister greeted representatives of all religions and sought their blessings.

On the occasion, cultural programmes on birth of the Christ and his messages were held.
