Madhya Pradesh’s role vital in increasing India’s growth rate

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Gwalior and Chambal have immense potential of development. We wish that major industries come here and region’s youths also become entrepreneurs. Industry-friendly policy has been chalked out in the state. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing “Emerging Chambal” conclave organised by India Today Group and ITM University at Gwalior today..
Shri Chouhan said that development in these areas will be boosted further by development of human resources and infrastructure in tourism and industry sectors. He said that once notorious for dacoit menace, Chambal region is now emerging as a development area rapidly. He said that Madhya Pradesh has achieved unprecedented success in development sector. While India’s growth rate is 5 percent, Madhya Pradesh has achieved growth rate in double digits continuously for last 5 years. State’s agriculture growth rate is about 19 percent, which is highest in the country. He said that Madhya Pradesh will play important role in country’s growth rate.
Shri Chouhan said that there were 3 major law & order problems at the beginning of his term. Now, the state has been freed from menace of dacoity. SIMI network has been demolished and Naxalite activities have been curbed. He said that dream of development was impossible to achieve without overcoming these problems.
The Chief Minister said that efforts are underway at a rapid pace to level ravines of Chambal to make them worthy for industries. Now, higher education institutions are coming to this region. Education facilities have been increased. He said that work is also being done to impart skill development training to human resources for preparing them for development of the region.
The Chief Minister said that apart from big industries, full attention is also being paid to development and expansion of small industries. Through Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana, initiative has been taken to provide bank guarantee to youths to set up industries. He said that government wishes to create spirit of entrepreneurship in youths. He said that trained and skilled manpower will be required by industries coming to Chambal region. Referring to Mukhyamantri Contractor Yojana, he said that it will provide manpower to industries and jobs to local people.
Shri Chouhan said that large scheme infrastructure has been developed for development of Chambal region. He informed that Sitapur industrial area has been developed. Gwalior division has 37 engineering colleges. New information technology projects are coming in which youths will get jobs.
He informed that it has been decided to develop new industrial corridor of Morena-Gwalior-Shivpuri-Guna. For this, over 5000 hectare land has been identified. The Chief Minister said that farmers in Chambal areas will now start getting third crop due to effective implementation of irrigation projects. It will cast positive impact on other development schemes also.
Union Minister of State for Rural Development Shri Pradeep Jain said that the State and Union governments will have to work unitedly for development of the region. Congratulating the Chief Minister for effective implementation of Ladli Laxmi Yojana and Beti Bachao Abhiyan, the guests said that this has cast a positive impact on people’s mindset.
Medical Education Minister Shri Anoop Mishra, Public Relations Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma, MPs Shri Narendra Singh Tomar and Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia, Gwalior Mayor Smt. Sameeksha Gupta, Shri Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya, India Today’s editor Shri Dilip Mandal, ITM University Gwalior’s Chancellor Shri Ramashankar Singh and citizens of Gwalior and Chambal divisions were present on the occasion.
