Chief Minister  Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that India did not get freedom easily, but because of the sacrifice, penance and determination of thousands of people. The role of the revolutionaries who brought freedom can never be forgotten. The revolutionaries of Madhya Pradesh also actively participated in the freedom struggle. Chief Minister  Chouhan was addressing the “Azadi ka Mahaparva” programme organised by the Department of Culture under Amrit Mahotsav at Ravindra Bhawan on the eve of Independence Day. Culture and Tourism Minister  Usha Thakur, Principal Secretary Culture and Tourism  Sheo Shekhar Shukla and a large number of citizens were present on the occasion.

Chief Minister  Chouhan said that for the first time under the leadership of Prime Minister  Narendra Modi, the statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose has been installed on the Kartavya Path, India Gate in Delhi. Martyrs’ memorials are being built. We also worship those heroes by making memorials. Without this no country can develop and progress. CM Chouhan congratulated Swaraj Sansthan for publishing a book on the stories of independence. He said these books should be read certainly, we have got freedom because of the supreme sacrifice of the immortal martyrs, do not let it go in vain. Under the leadership of Prime Minister  Modi a glorious, magnificent, prosperous and powerful India is being built.

While giving the welcome address, Culture Minister  Usha Thakur said that today’s programme is wonderful and unique. The Culture Department is working with full dedication under the leadership of Chief Minister  Chouhan. The state government is constantly making efforts to make the coming generation familiar with the revolutionaries.

Chief Minister  Chouhan released five books based on the history of freedom struggle of Madhya Pradesh. Principal Secretary Culture and Tourism  Sheo Shekhar Shukla proposed the vote of thanks. In the programme, cine artist  Annu Kapoor and his team gave cultural presentations based on patriotism.
