Work in national interest rising above vested interests: Governor

Bhopal: Independence Festival was held at open-air theatre of Ravindra Bhavan here on Thursday evening. Governor Shri Ram Naresh Yadav and Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan released audio album “Jan Nayak” prepared by Swaraj Sansthan on the occasion.

Governor Shri Ram Naresh Yadav urged the audience to take pledge for unity, brotherhood and cooperative in building state and country with core of their hearts rising above personal interests on Independence Day. He said that he will himself contribute his best for re-building the state. Referring to freedom movement in Madhya Pradesh, he paid tributes to its heroes. He said that positive initiative has been taken to inculcate spirit of patriotism among youths by the State Government. Programmes like Independence Festival and audio album “Jan Nayak” will continue to inspire the young generation to contribute their best for nation-building. Lauding effort to honour clay artists, he said that this will help survival of the dying art.
Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan urged people to observe Independence Day as Pledge Day. Dreams of freedom movement’s martyrs will be realised only when they contribute their best for building nation and state. He said that names of great heroes of freedom movement have not been pronounced correctly in history. New generation will be introduced to immortal martyrs through this “Jan Nayak’ album. He also administered pledge for sacrificing all for country and state. Shri Chouhan said that State Government is making efforts to ensure that no one remains hungry, illiterate and jobless. Government is extending every possible assistance to brighten future of youths. A number of schemes have been chalked out for higher education and helping youths to set up their own industries and businesses. He informed that self-employment will be provided soon to 10 thousand youths under Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana. He said that Madhya Pradesh is one of the fastest growing states. It is emerging as hub for textiles, power and automobile.
Culture and Public Relations Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma said that government has undertaken large-scale works to preserve culture in the state. Shaurya Smarak is under construction at Bhopal. Memorials commemorating brave people and martyrs of the state are coming up in Madhya Pradesh. Culture Department is leaving no stone unturned in developing Golden Madhya Pradesh. Clay Art Board’s Chairman Shri Ashok Prajapati proposed a vote of thanks.
At the programme, the board also felicitated clay artists. The first prize was conferred to Shri Ramgopal Prajapati of Gwalior, second to Shri Santosh Babulal of Jabalpur and the third prize was conferred to Shri Santosh Prajapati of Dewas. Shri Vishnu Kumar Agrawal’s presentation Agrasen Bhagwad Gita was also released on the occasion. The programme got underway with rendition of Vande Matram and Madhya Pradesh Gaan by Suhasini Joshi and companions. Secretary Culture Shri Pankaj Rag and Director Swaraj Sansthan Directorate Shri Shriram Tiwari were also present on the occasion.
