Kin of internal security martyrs deserve equal honour and facilities
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that like the martyrs laying down their lives while defending country’s borders, those who have laid down their lives in ensuring internal security are also martyrs. No differentiation can be made between the two. Relatives of martyrs who have laid down their lives in ensuring internal security also deserve equal honour and facilities. Shri Chouhan was addressing police medal recipient police officers and employees and their relatives here on Thursday.
Chief Minister’s wife Smt. Sadhna Singh, DGP Shri Nandan Dube, DG Jails Shri Surendra Singh, DG Police Housing Corporation Shri S.S. Lal and DG Home Guards Shri Rishi Shukla were also present on the occasion.
Shri Chouhan said that police personnel should pay attention to state’s security and law & order. State Government will take care of their needs. He said that Police Health Security Scheme has been introduced for welfare of police personnel. New houses are being constructed to solve housing problem. He informed that number of police force in year 2004-05 was 70 thousand, which has increased to over one lakh now. He said that achievements of Madhya Pradesh police are a matter of pride. They have met all the parameters of excellence. Dacoity menace has been eradicated. SIMI racket has been demolished. Communal riots have been prevented. Remarkable success has been achieved in nabbing and punishing culprits of crimes against women. Referring to sacrifices of relatives of martyred police officers and employees, he told kin of the posthumous awardees not to feel lonely as the State Government stands by them.
DGP Shri Nandan Dube informed about the programme. Referring to works being made for protection and augmentation of the police, he expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister. Additional DGP SAF Shri V.K. Singh proposed a vote of thanks. The programme was conducted by IG Shri Gajiram Meena.
