Jumbo Menace: With wild elephants continuing their rampage for nearly 48 hours, some 40 families from the Bakalo village of Surguja district in Chhattisgarh were forced to desert their hutments for safer climes on Sunday.

The wild pachyderms swarmed the village Friday night demolishing at least three houses and damaging another four. The rampage forced residents to flee the village till the elephants returned to a nearby forested belt.
