Vocational training to 1.50 lakh youths every year in MP

Bhopal : Higher Education Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma has said that vocational training will be imparted to about 1.50 lakh youths in the state this year. Placement record of the trained youths will also be maintained. Shri Sharma was addressing a review meeting of advisory committee of Technical Education & Skill Development Department here today. MLA Shri Devi Singh Patel, Additional Chief Secretary Technical Education Smt. Ajita Bajpai Pandey and other officers were present at the meeting.
The Technical Education Minister said that the training will be imparted under I.T.I., Skill Development Centre, CRISP and Model Employable Scheme. He informed that I.T.Is will be opened at unserviced districts like Sheopur, Burhanpur, Barwani and Rajgarh from the current session. Recruitments on posts of I.T.Is are being made at the earliest. Shri Sharma informed that Naugaon Engineering College will be started from this session. Dr. Ambedkar Polytechnic at Lateri and Eklavya Polytechnic at Harsud are also being opened.
Shri Sharma informed that in yet another important step, four autonomous engineering colleges and 36 polytechnic colleges have been registered as vocational education providers. After their registration, pace of vocational training will be accelerated further. Technical Education Minister Shri Sharma directed to undertake process to install solar power plants and water harvesting systems in all the government and private engineering and polytechnic colleges of the state. He said that 21 new polytechnics have been established in Madhya Pradesh.
