Villages plan to be chalked out in village itself now: CM

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that for all-round development of villages in the state, every village’s development plan will be chalked out village itself. He said that the state government has attached top priority to agriculture growth to improve farmers’ financial condition. The Chief Minister was addressing a Gram Sansad of 7 villages at village Ranipura in Sagar district today. He also gave administrative sanction of Rs. 436 crore for Satgarh irrigation project. Shri Chouhan also dedicated and performed Bhumi Poojan of development works costing Rs. 3 crore 79 lakh. MLAs Shri Pradeep Laria, Shri Shailendra Jain, Shri Harvansh Singh Rathore, Smt Parul Sahu and Sagar Mayor Shri Abhay Dare were also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said that every villager should attend Gram Sabha and get village’s development plan chalked out. Names of left out eligible beneficiaries should be included by May 31. The Chief Minister informed women that the Prime Minister has chalked out a scheme to give free LPG connections to poor families. It would be implemented soon in the state.

Referring to crop insurance scheme, the Chief Minister said that now farmers will face no difficulty in case of crop loss. He said that crop insurance scheme has been simplified. He exhorted farmers to grow horticulture crops side by side traditional farming. Shri Chouhan inaugurated a model farmhouse spreading over 23 acres at village Ranipura.

At Gram Sansad, the Chief Minister administered oath to villagers, specially women to become partners in development of village earnestly. He said that from this year, instead of cash amount cycles will be provided to students. He said that the state government will bear expenses on treatment of childless couples. Such 3000 women have been identified.

Panchayats and Rural Development Minister Shri Gopal Bhargava also spoke on the occasion. He said that there would be no shortage of funds for development of villages. Adequate funds would be given to Gram Panchayats for drinking water arrangements.

District collector informed that so far 1619 functions have been organised in Sagar district under ‘Gramoday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan’
