Gramoday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan to be conducted every year

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed for implementation of Gramoday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan in right earnest in systematic way. This is a campaign to solve people’s problems on the field level. No negligence will be tolerated in its implementation at any level. Special attention should be paid to ensuring honour, participation and dialogue with public representatives during the campaign. The campaign would be conducted every year. The Chief Minister was reviewing implementation of the campaign through video conferencing with collectors and commissioners here today. Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa was also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister directed for special efforts to create campaign’s atmosphere. Gram Sabhas should be held again where people’s participation has been low earlier. During the campaign, villagers will chalk out schemes for villages’ development through mutual discussions. It is a decentralization exercise in which people will take decisions themselves. He directed to chalk out lists of eligible beneficiaries under beneficiary-oriented schemes at Gram Sabhas. Efforts should be made with maximum capacity and efficiency to make the campaign successful. Expenditure will be made from Chief Minister’s Discretionary Fund on treatment of women identified as childless at health camps under the campaign. A drive should also be launched to dispose of mutation cases and distribution of residential pattas. All officers should take part in Gram Sabhas under the campaign.

The Chief Minister said that for outstanding performance under the campaign, 3 districts will be awarded at the state level, 3 development blocks at divisional level and 3 Gram Panchayats at district level. Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the country where the campaign is being conducted for 45 days. All works under the campaign should be reported within time-limit. He sought district-wise information about works done under the campaign. He said that priority to repairing and constructing new water structures and agriculture should be given at village level. Preparations for implementation of Pradhan Mantri Sinchai Yojana should also be made.

Chief Secretary Shri de Sa informed that 9,631 Gram Sabhas have been held under the campaign so far. So, far 44 thousand 731 cases of mutation, 6,500 of partition and 3,820 cases of demarcation have been disposed of. In all, 11 thousand 94 health camps have been held. ACS Shri S.R. Mohanthy, ACS Shri R.S. Julaniya, Principal Secretary to CM Shri Iqbal Singh Bains and Principal Secretaries of concerning departments also attended the video conferencing.
