Two new cruises in Tawa and Indira Sagar

Bhopal. To promote tourist facilities in the State, Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation will now start two mini cruises each in Tawa reservoir at Hoshangabad and Indira Sagar Dam at Khandwa District. Tourists will also be provided snacks facility on these cruises. They will also enjoy natural environs to the hilt. The scheme to introduce both the new mini cruises has been chalked out keeping in view influx of tourists during the first week of August.
The 9.5 meter long fiber reinforcement plastic mini cruise boat is fitted with 40 HP over board engine. Each mini cruise is of 18-seat capacity. Besides, the cruise is also equipped with tables and chairs. It is open from all sides so that tourists can enjoy sightseeing and birds flying in the open air, besides beautiful scenery of forests and hills of Satpura all around.
It may be mentioned that four cruise boats and one mini cruise and boats of various sizes are available in the fleet of the Tourism Development Corporation for promoting water tourism. These include pedal boats, speed boats, lancer boats, water scooters etc. one cruise in the Upper Lake of Bhopal, two in Bargi (Jabalpur) and one cruise and one mini cruise are operating in Tawa Dam to facilitate tourists.
At present, one mini cruise is operating for tourists between Tawa and Madhai in Tawa reservoir. Tourists reach Madhai on board this 18-seater mini cruise in three and half hours while enjoying the water journey. From there, tourists reach Satpura National Park by road and enjoy sightseeing of wildlife and natural beauty. Similarly, services of cruise are available from Bargi to Mandla in the Bargi dam. Besides, new mini cruise will be operated between Joga and fort in Indira Sagar Dam.
