Tribal Museum highlights beauty of tribal culture

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum has been organising a three-day programme to highlight the tribal culture and its aesthetics beauty in connection with the World Tribal Day from August 9 to 11 at its premises.
The programme, which aimed to create awareness about tribal arts and culture, comprised of painting exhibition, workshop and cultural events. An exhibition entitled ‘Shrishti’ of senior Gond and Bhil artists mounted on this occasion, explained the tribal beliefs, their culture and their love to nature in myriad colours.
About 20 creations tagged in this exhibition belonged to senior artists that include the names of Bhuri Bai, Kala Bai, Rajkumar Shyam, Nandu Mandloi, Ramsingh Urveti, Narmada Prasad Tekam, Raambai Tekam etc. Besides, in the workshop entitled as ‘Chinhhari’ tribal children residing in city presented the Tribal Museum by painting tribal house types, tribal games etc on canvas sheet from their own vision.
On Sunday, praising the God of rains, tribal women artists from Gond, Bhil and Korku communities rendered a fabulous performance and enthralled audience presented in the Sangrahalaya. This cultural programme began with Earth’s Vadana followed by various folk songs such as ‘Sawan bhado bijli chamkat bhaiya’, Naagar dole nagariya dole and others. Tribal Museum publicity officer Ashok Mishr told that these activities will continue on Sunday.
