Rs. 1300 crore scheme to keep Narmada pollution-free

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that a Rs. 1300 crore scheme will be implemented effectively for keeping Narmada River pollution-free. Water of nullahs will be prevented from falling into Narmada. Active cooperation of all sections of society will be sought in this task. Shri Chouhan was addressing people present at Sethani Ghat in Hoshangabad on the occasion of Narmada Jayanti Mahotsav today. On the occasion, he also performed worship along with his wife. He administered a pledge to people not to pollute Narmada.
The Chief Minister said that Narmada is the lifeline of Madhya Pradesh and has paved the way of the state’s prosperity and progress. On the occasion, he wished that happiness and prosperity prevail in Madhya Pradesh, youths get jobs, farmers remain safe from natural calamites and industries & business flourish. He said that such industries will be established which do not pollute Narmada water.
The Chief Minister said that Mukhyamantri Swa-rozgar Yojna is being launched for assisting youths in garnering employment. Effective steps have been initiated towards women’s empowerment. He said that assistance is being provided to construct toilet in every household with a view to creating pollution-free environment. He said the every person should plant minimum one sapling on Narmada bank every year. For this, works under Hariyali Chunari Yojana should be accelerated. Senior leader Shri Kaptan Singh Solanki, Minister of State for Agriculture Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh, Zila Panchayat Chairperson Smt. Yojangandha Singh, MLA Shri Girijashankar Sharma, Seed and Farm Development Corporation Chairman Shri Madhukar Harne and Suhagpur MLA Shri Vijaypal Singh also spoke on the occasion.
The Chief Minister and other guests performed Jalabhishek after worshipping Maa Narmada. Show of fireworks was held at Sethani and other ghats. Large number of devotees also offered earthen lamps. Sethani Ghat was decorated in a grand style.
