Roadmap to be Made to Strengthen Commercial Ties with Russia

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan was called on by the Consulate General of the Russian Federation Shri Andry here today. Deliberations to strengthen commercial ties with Madhya Pradesh took place during the meeting.

CM Shri Chouhan was invited by Shri Andry to participate in the Petersburg International Economic Forum proposed to held in the first week of June next year. Shri Chouhan said that Russia is a natural friend of India. The political and cultural relations between India and Russia are strengthened under the leadership of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Madhya Pradesh will contribute to strengthen historical cultural ties with Russia.

Extending gratitude for the invitation, Shri Chouhan said that participation of trade delegation will be considered. Moreover, a roadmap will be made to encourage trade and commerce between Madhya Pradesh and Russia.

Shri Andry said that Russia intents to increase trade relationships with Madhya Pradesh. Food Processing, Defence Production, Automation, Tourism, Agriculture Machinery Production and Fertilizers manufacturing sectors have been selected for this. These are sectors in which Madhya Pradesh and Russia together can strengthen trade relationships.

Moreover, Shri Andry informed about the concept of sister city and sister state between cities of Madhya Pradesh and Russian cities. Praising the concept, Shri Chouhan mentioned that this will give strength to the cultural relationships between the two countries. Furthermore, Shri Andry said that till date the Russian tourists were limited to the selected cities of India but now Madhya Pradesh has established its special image in the field of tourism. Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh has global presence in the field of tourism.

CM Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is moving ahead speedily. It is leading in the economic growth rate and is moving forward with the remarkable agriculture growth rate of 20 percent.

Chief Secretary Shri B. P. Singh, Principal Secretary Industry Shri Mohammad Suleman, Principal Secretary to CM Shri S. K. Mishra and Officers were present on the occasion.
