Prepare proposals pertaining to Central budget schemes: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Central Budget is far-sighted and aims to lay foundation of a strong India. A number of new schemes for different departments have been announced in it. If all state government departments make proper preparations now, better benefits can be availed from Central Budget for Madhya Pradesh. All departments should collect information about their schemes and prepare proposals accordingly. Referring to Smart City Scheme and River Linking Scheme, he directed to prepare proposal under them on priority. Madhya Pradesh will be taken to new heights by year 2018. No stone will be left unturned for this. The Chief Minister was addressing a meeting on “Central Budget – Possibilities for M.P.” here today.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed all departments to chalk out proposals pertaining to identified schemes under the Central Budget within a week. The departments should also fix their priorities. Madhya Pradesh should be the first state to send proposals for these schemes. He said that Madhya Pradesh should also contribute suggestions for Central Budget’s programmes and schemes which are in the process of policymaking. Further possibilities of interlinking rivers should be explored in Madhya Pradesh. The state should start at its own level the scheme to develop farmers’ markets for directly purchasing products from farmers.
The Chief Minister said that a proposal should be chalked out to include 10 new districts of Madhya Pradesh in National Rural Livelihoods Mission. A detailed proposal should be prepared under Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Ru-urburn Mission to provide city-like facilities and infrastructure in villages. Ready proposals under PMGSY should be sent to the Centre. State should avail maximum benefit under Central Budget provisions for rural drinking water schemes. Apart from Jabalpur, Rewa and Gwalior, schemes to develop new airports in tier-1 and tier-2 cities should be chalked out. Proposals regarding development of smart cities should be chalked out right now. Proposal of light metro should be included in assistance scheme for urban infrastructure development in urban habitats. Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya New Teachers Training Programme for teachers’ training should be upgraded. Proposal of Click Scheme should be chalked out for virtual classrooms. Programmes under Skilled India of Multi-Skill Programme in the state should be improved.
Shri Chouhan directed to select land for Jaiprakash Narayan National Humanities Excellence Centre in Madhya Pradesh. Proposals should be prepared for opening model schools in all development blocks. Beti Bachao Abhiyan implemented in the state should be improved as a model in the country for Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Abhiyan.
Proposals should be prepared for madarsa modernisation and development of minorities’ traditional skills. Proposal for broadband connectivity in every village should be prepared under Digital India Programme. Proposals should be sent for new tourist circuits and training to probables of Asian Games.
Additional Chief Secretary Shri Ajay Nath gave a presentation regarding various provisions of the Central Budget including programmes and schemes for agriculture and allied sectors, rural development, infrastructure, education, health, women & child development, industries, social justice, welfare schemes, information technology, tourism & culture, sports & youth welfare and home department. Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa and senior officers of concerning departments were present on the occasion.
