Ensure arrangements to deal with flood situation: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed to make all arrangements to deal with flood situation following heavy rains in some districts of the state. Disaster management teams must rush wherever required. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan reviewed rainfall situation at Mantralaya here today. The meeting was informed that flood situation is under control in all the districts.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that relief cases should be prepared where losses have been caused by floods. Flood control room should function 24X7. Barriers should be put up at the culverts which are inundated due to excessive rainfall in the state. Home guard jawans and boats should be deployed in adequate numbers. He said that Agriculture Department should advise farmers to undertake sowing operations keeping condition of delayed monsoon in view. If water is to be released from dams of Water Resources and Narmada Valley Development departments, then advance information and necessary instructions should be given to local people and proper arrangements made.
The meeting was informed that rescue teams have been deployed in all affected areas. About 1500 persons have been shifted in Harda district. Two persons each died following heavy rains in Betul, Bhopal and Burhanpur. Home Minister Shri Babulal Gaur, Finance Minister Shri Jayant Malaiya, Agriculutre Minister Shri Gaurishankar Bisen, Revenue Minister Shri Rampal Singh, Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa and officers of concerning departments were present on the occasion.
