Outstanding NGOs at development block level to be awarded: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan ha ssaid that non-government organisations performing outstandingly at development block level will be awarded from next year. Provision of Rs. 300 crore has been made this year for developing rural haat-bazaars for rural craftspersons. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing Voluntary Organisation Dialogue-2013 \organised by Jan-Abhiyan Parishad at Ravindra Bhavan here today. At the programme, he also distributed awards to state and district-level outstanding organisations and fellowships.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that arrangements for Vivekananda Kendras will be made effectively in every district. Facility of reading room and conferencing will be made available to district centres of Jan-Abhiyan Parishad. Impact survey of various government schemes will be done through Jan-Abhiyan Parishad. He said that voluntary organisations’ role is important in development of society and country.
Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is taking rapid strides in progress. The state has made remarkable achievements in sectors like irrigation, power and agriculture. Now the state is rubbing shoulders with developed states. Development is meaningful when common people get its benefit. The State Government has concern for every section of society and chalked out schemes for their development. Voluntary organisations apprise people of these schemes. They should improve villages with the cooperation of society and contribute to country’s development. He urged to cooperate in de-addiction campaign. Neither new liquor plants will be established in Madhya Pradesh now nor liquor shops will be opened. A network of small and cottage industries will be laid in all villages so that income of people is increased. A target has been set to extend help to one lakh youths in setting up self-employment this year. He said that voluntary organisations should assist in Beti Bachao Abhiyan and change people’s mindset. He administered pledge to voluntary organisations to extend active cooperation in Madhya Pradesh’s development.
Finance Minister Shri Raghavji said that 40 Prasphutan Samitis are functioning in all development block of the state. Jan-Abhiyan Parishad is enlisting active cooperation of voluntary organisations in the state’s development. Member of Parliament Shri Narendra Singh Tomar said that youths should discharge their social and national duties and cooperate in building golden Madhya Pradesh.
At the programme, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan gave away Rs. 5 lakh first state-level prize to Asha Gram Trust Barwani, Rs. 3 lakh second prize to Bhausaheb Bhuskute Smriti Lok Nyas Hoshangabad and Rs. 1 lakh and third prize to Sarthak Samudayik Vikas Evam Jan-Kalyan Sanstha Bhopal. Similarly, one voluntary organisation from every district was given award for outstanding performance. Fellowships for year 2012 were given to researchers Shri Sunit Kumar Tiwari, Shri Mahendra Kumar, Shri Mahendra Sitpara, Shri Amit Richharia and Shri Krishnakant Khode.
Jan-Abhiyan Parishad Vice-Chairman Shri Pradeep Pandey threw light on the programme’s outlines and Vice-Chairman Dr. Ajay Shankar Mehta delivered the welcome address. Panchayats & Rural Development Minister Shri Gopal Bhargava, Agriculture Minister Dr. Ramkrishna Kusmaria, social worker Shri Mukund Kanitkar, Shri Arvind Menon and large number of representatives of voluntary organisations were present on the occasion.
