Now, special focus on education and health in MP: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that bread, clothing, education and medical facilities are basic needs of human beings. After coming to power, first work was taken up to improve state’s infrastructure. Attention was focused on agriculture and industries. Now, special focus is on education and health. Shri Chouahn was addressing India Today Education Summit here today. Urban Development and Environment Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya was also present on the occasion.

Shri Chouhan said that education is not a commercial activity but a mission. Private sector eager to work in mission mode in education sector is heartily welcome in Madhya Pradesh. He said that the government is making every possible effort to encourage private sector in education. Efforts are being made that children of ordinary families can also pursue education in private educational institutions.

The Chief Minister said that state has made rapid strides in economic sector. For last 9 years, growth rate is maintained in double digit. This year, state’s 11.08 percent growth rate is the highest in the country. Agriculture growth rate has been charismatic 24.99 percent this year. But all this is only a milestone. Real development is the one in which light of progress reaches homes of common people.

Urban Development and Environment Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya said that the state government stands for development. The government is creating new records of development. Madhya Pradesh is emerging as education hub. It is endeavour of the government that education is expanded and its quality is also improved. Participation of private sector in these efforts is welcome with open hearth. During last 9 years, Madhya Pradesh has carved its distinct identity in the country due to state government’s efforts. People say that Madhya Pradesh is the state where the Chief Minister is doing public welfare works like a common man.

A question-answer session was also held at the programme. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan gave replies to students questions. ISACT University’s Chancellor Shri Santosh Chaube also spoke on the occasion.
