Bhopal on Wednesday bade a tearful farewell to eminent Islamic scholar Misbah-ul-Hasan Mujaddidi, affectionately referred to as Peer Munne Mian Sahib, who breathed his last at a city hospital at around 0100 hours.
Some 15000 people are estimated to have taken part in funeral procession which started from the Peergate Khanquah.
The Namaz-e-Janaza, at the Lal Parade Ground, was led by the deceased’s brother Peer Saeed Mian Sahib Mujajaddidi.
He was laid to rest by the side of his late father – Peer Nanhe Mian Sahib – at the family graveyard in the Jehangirabad area of the city.
Condoling the loss, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan prayed for salvation of the departed soul and strength for the bereaved family.
