Madhya Pradesh CIC Asks Bureaucrats to List Assets
Bhopal — Madhya Pradesh Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) has asked bureaucrats and police officials in the state to submit details of their property, said media reports citing officials said on Sunday.
Following a petition, by deputy leader of opposition in the state assembly – Choudhary Rakesh Singh, demanding that the information be made public, CIC PP Tiwari last week ordered issuance of notices to Indian Administrative Service and Indian Police Service officers in the state.
“The state commission would issue notices to IPS and IAS officers including those posted in the state secretariat under section 19(4) of the Right to Information Act. Similar notices would soon be issued to police officers posted at police headquarters as directed by the CIC,” an officer in the state information commission was quoted as saying.
Hearing in the case is now scheduled for Nov 11.
