M.P. To Play Instrumental Role In India’s Economy

Bhopal. The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh has earned a reputation of being the fastest growing state. He said that the State is ready to play an instrumental role in India’s development and strengthening its economy.  Shri Chouhan made this observation while extending greetings to people on the occasion of 61st foundation day of Madhya Pradesh here today.

Acknowledging people’s contribution in enhancing the glory of Madhya Pradesh and marching on with fullest confidence, he said that upcoming decade belongs to Madhya Pradesh.

The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh has set many parameters of development while upholding its glory and heritage and history. He said that it has internalized India’s spirit of diversity and pluralism in its own cultural and social heritage.

The chief minister said that people’s participation has added to the enthusiasm and confidence of rebuilding Madhya Pradesh as an outstanding state. He said that all efforts have been made to ensure participation of every citizen in the process of decision making as governments do not achieve meaningful gains without participation of people. He said that people are pro-actively coming forward owing to the strategy of participatory governance.  States make progress only when every citizen has confidence of marching on.

Beginning of Industrial Era

Appreciating farmers contribution in increasing agriculture production despite natural adversities, the chief minister said that farmers have brought glory to Madhya Pradesh making it a pioneer State. It is only due to their positive approach, Malwa, Chhindwara and Betul regions have come up as orange production hub and districts like Mandla and Dindori are pioneer in organic farming.

While doing value addition of farm produces at local level, six food parks have been set up for food processing industries. Referring to recently held, Global Investors Summit at Indore, he said that all efforts would be made to actualize the investment proposals worth over Rs. 5 lakh 62 thousand crore . He said that the State has achieved success in creating new jobs for the youth saying that micro, small and medium industries are also getting a boost. Bhopal will soon have Global Vocational Training Institute of 10 thousand capacity with the cooperation of Singapore. State Skill Development Mission has been launched for improving the skills of youth.

Land for every landless

Shri Chouhan said that all houseless families will be provided houses by 2022. About 13 lakh housing units including 8 lakh in rural areas are under construction.  Every landless family will be provided land for residential purpose. They will be given constructed houses or be economically helped to have their own house.

2000 new sub health centres

Referring to widening and improving of health facilities Shri Chouhan said that all district hospitals have been equipped with dialysis and chemotherapy facilities. Free medicines are being distributed and pathological tests are being done free of cost. He informed that soon 2000 new sub health centres would be opened. About womens empowerment, he said that 33 percent reservation has been given in government services. As many as 1 lakh 45 thousand rural womens self help groups have been linked to income generating activities in order to make them economically empowered.

Improving Quality of Education

Underlining the initiatives for expansion of education and improving quality of teaching, Shri Chouhan said that this year 21 students of Scheduled Castes got admission in prestigious IITs while 51 have taken admission in medical colleges. The poor students deprived of educational facilities are taking admissions in national level higher educational institutions.  They are occupying higher posts in major companies. The state govt. is bearing the fee of students.

Five Year Cleanliness Action Plan

Reiterating his commitment to completely put an end to the practice of open defecation, Shri Chouhan said that five year action plan worth Rs. 5209 crore has been made under Clean India Mission. He said that job creation has been the main concern. Appreciable work has been done in health, education and food security.

Pervasive Good Governance

Listing the achievements in good governance, Shri Chouhan said that the good governance practices and initiatives have earned kudos across the country. The use of Information Technology has increased. So far 164 public services of 23 departments have been brought under public service delivery guarantee scheme. The C.M. Helpline is addressing peoples problems.

Tribute to Martyrs

The chief minister said that Shourya Smarak has been constructed at Bhopal to pay tribute to the great martyrs who made supreme sacrifice for the mother nation. It is pilgrimage of patriotism. He paid tributes to the martyrs on the Foundation Day. Better law and order situation can be solely attributed to efficient policing.

Reiterating his commitment for honest and dedicated participation in State’s journey of development, Shri Chouhan called upon citizens to honestly discharge assigned duties.
