Government constituted ‘State Public Service Agency’
Bhopal: The State Government has constituted ‘State Public Service Agency’ for ensuring more effective implementation of District e-Governance Project and Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act. An order to this effect has been issued by the Public Service Management Department.
The agency will function as state designated authority for Union Government’s District e-Governance Project. Besides, its other main functions will include providing guidance towards institutional and policy-related for disposal of applications received for delivering services within prescribed time-limit under Madhya Pradesh Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act-2010, increase of use of information technology in delivery of notified services so that people can avail these services online, assessment of data digitisation requirement for making available online services and extend necessary cooperation to departments.
The agency will also undertake third party assessment of implantation of notified services being delivered in the state. Besides, the agency will also undertake standardization of procedures for non-notified services’ delivery, ensure their online delivery and coordinate in running public service centres.
The agency will function as a registered autonomous body and will have two-tier committees including general and executive councils. The Chief Minister will head the general council. Principal Secretary Public Service Management will be its Member-Secretary while members will include Ministers of Revenue, Information Technology and General Administration Departments, the Chief Secretary and Principal Secretaries of Finance, General Administration, Revenue and Information Technology. Besides, 2 noted persons from public service delivery sector and 2 institutions working in the sector will also be nominated as members of the general council.
Principal Secretary Public Service Management will head the agency’s exeutive committee. Its members will include Principal Secretaries of Revenue, General Administration and Information Technology departments while Executive Director Public Service Agency will be its Member-Secretary.
