Forest produce to be procured on support price: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that forest produce will be procured on support price. Shri Chouhan was addressing the concluding function of tribal congregation at Ujjain today. Programme’s chief guest and RSS Sarsanghchalak Shri Mohan Rao Bhagwat said that all should work unitedly and tirelessly to ensure forest dwellers’ welfare.

The Chief Minister said that forest dwellers are protectors of Indian culture. The State Government has distributed forest land rights pattas to about 1.75 lakh forest dwellers. The process is still underway. The Chief Minister said that if someone tries to convert religion of tribals without their consent then strict action will be taken and the person concerned will be sent to jail. He said that no moneylender can carry out his business without licence. The State Government will extend optimum assistance if children of forest dwellers wish to go to foreign countries for studies. He said that the seed of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram sown by Shri Bala Saheb Desphande in 1952 has now grown into a full-bloom tree. Forest dwellers have always worked in country’s interests. He said that Madhya Pradesh has produced great persons like Tanya Bhil, who have put in valuable services for the state and country.

RSS Sarsanghchalak Shri Mohan Rao Bhagwat urged all concerned to work unitedly in the interest of forest dwellers. A habit should be development to work continuously for their welfare. Lauding Akhil Bharatiya Vanvansi Kalyam Ashram, he urged people to work jointly for all-round development of forest dwellers. He said the development of modern times is the result of greed and egotism whereas forest dwellers preserve the wealth Indian ideologies. Our aim should be to empower forest dwellers. Tribals should not be neglected, but should be motivated to participate in the development process.

Mahandaleshwar Swami Shri Akhileshwarananda Giri Maharaj of Samanvay Sewa Kendra Jabalpur said that Akhil Bharatiya Vanvansi Kalyam Ashram is creating awareness regarding health and self-dependence among tribals in adverse conditions with a view to strengthening spirit of national unity.

At the programme, books “Aranyajali” and “Janjati Samaj Evam Jansanchar Madhyam Pratima Evam Vastavikta” were also released. Ujjain’s in-charge Minister Shri Kailash Vijaywargiya, Shri Prabhat Jha, Shri Arvind Menon, Tribal Welfare Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah, State Planning Commission Vice-Chairman Shri Babulal Jain, Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Dr. Mohan Yadav, Mayor Shri Rameshwar Akhand, former Union Minister Dr. Satyanarayan Jatia, Shri Anil Jain Kaluheda, Vice-President of Akhil Bharatiya Vanvansi Kalyam Ashram Shri Jaleshwar Brahma, Shri Kripa Prasad Singh, Shri Asthbhuja Choudhary from Nepal, MLAs Shri Santosh Joshi, Shri Shivnarayan Jagirdar, Badnagar MLA Shri Shantilal Badhaik, Shri Roop Pamnanik, Shri Iqbal Singh Gandhi, other public representatives and officers were present on the occasion.
