CM makes appeal for women’s empowerment from every stage

Bhopal: Steps were dancing to tunes somewhere whereas live demonstration of women’s empowerment was being made and play focusing on women staged somewhere else. About half a dozen stages erected at Nari Samman Utsav had virtually created a sea of culture on entire premises which was given further impetus by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan towards women’s rights.
Nari Samman Utsav was held to mark Veerangana Maharani Laxmibai’s birth anniversary on the premises of Gwalior Utsav Mela. Through words as well as by not saying anything, the Chief Minister motivated the youth power present in front of every stage to take pledge for women’s empowerment. About one lakh people enthusiastically responded to the Chief Minister’s call.
Chief Minister also made dance steps: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited all the stages number about half a dozen erected to honour women on the sprawling premises of Gwalior Vyapar Mela. Shri Chouhan could not stop him from making a few dance steps along with other dancers during Badhai dance being staged on one of these stages.
Cultural programmes held: Beside main stage, five more stages were erected at Nari Samman Utsav including youths stage, education stage, children’s stage, folk stage and culture stage. Through these stages, various educational, social, voluntary and government institutions staged attractive cultural programmes focusing on women’s power. For sometime, it seemed that entire Mela premises had become women-centric. Not only discussions were being made everywhere on women’s dignity and honour, but commitment towards daughters’ rights was also visible all around.
…and people’s eyes got wet: Various presentations made at these stages during Nari Samman Utsav reached out message of saving daughters effectively to the hearts of people. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan also witnessed various presentations made at the main stage. The heart-rending song sung by artistes of local Parivartan Group focusing on female foeticide left deep imprint on the minds of audience. The audience were jolted when two small girls Seema Soni and Sarita Soni played the role of female embryo. The people were overwhelmed by their dialogues and were motivated to save daughters if the social fabric is to be protected. At the main stage, youths also displayed judo, karate and other martial arts.
