Chouhan Faces Court Case for Alleged ‘Anti-Bihar’ Remarks
For his alleged “anti-Bihar remarks”, a court in Bihar has ordered filing of a case against chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, said an official.
According to reports, a petition was filed against Chouhan in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate in Bettiah. Hearing on the plea filed by a Patna-base lawyer Murad Ali, the court ordered the town police station to lodge a case against the chief minister.
“Police will file a case against Chouhan following the court order,” a police official in Bettiah, district headquarters of West Champaran, was quoted as saying by IANS.
As evidence, the petitioner produced reports published in newspapers about the alleged anti-Bihar remarks by Chouhan.
It may be mentioned that media reported last week that Chohan said that people from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh were working in the industries created by the state, and termed it unacceptable.
Speaking at a public function in Satna, bordering Uttar Pradesh, he reportedly stressed that the state’s youth should be trained and given preference in jobs.
