Chalk out infrastructure development scheme for Satna city: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that infrastructure development scheme should be chalked out for Satna city in view its rapid growth and industries coming there. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was reviewing progress of Satna city’s development. Urban Administration & Development Minister Shri Babulal Gaur and Water Resources Minister Shri Jayant Malaiya were also present at the meeting.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed that a time-bound scheme should be chalked out for drinking water arrangements in Satna city under the Mukhyamantri Shahri Peyjal Yojna. Construction of ring road should be given priority. All infrastructural works should be carried out with quality and within time-limit. Income sources should be explored to strengthen Satna Municipal Corporation’s economic condition.
Directives regarding quality of under-construction stadium: At the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that redensification scheme should be chalked out for comprehensive development of Satna city. Land reserved for agriculture should be kept intact. Scheme should be chalked out to construct new Satna bus stand to replace the old one. He also directed to examine possibility of constructing a flyover from Mukhtarganj to Nazirabad in the city. He also directed to conduct feasibility survey. He said that a scheme should be chalked out to systemise main and three other nullahs in the city. Satna city’s main road should be beautified. Regarding non-completion of stadium within time-limit and complaints of poor quality, the Chief Minister directed to take strict action against the guilty.
It was informed at the meeting that as per census, Satna is the eighth biggest city of the state. Five big cement plants are operating here, two are under-construction and 16 more cement plants are coming up. National Highway passes from midst of the city, which has also a railway rake point. Systemization of railway station and city’s redensification is necessary. Stone crushers, wholesale vegetable market, Loha Mandi, dairies etc. should be shifted out of the city. Widening of station road is proposed. A sum of Rs. 32 lakh has been sanctioned under the Mukhyamantri Shahri Peyjal Yojna for Satna city’s drinking water arrangements. The municipal corporation is constructing two shopping complexes in the city. The Chief Minister directed to include these proposals under redensification scheme.
Satna Mayor Shri Pushkar Singh Tomar, Member of Parliament Shri Ganesh Singh, MLA Shri Shankarlal Tiwari, Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram and other senior officers were present at the meeting.
