Cabinet Approves Allotment of Land to IIT Indore

Bhopal: The state Cabinet has given go-ahead to the decision of the Indore district administration regarding allotting 432.84 acres of land to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indore for its proposed campus, said official sources.

According to the information, the decision was approved by the state Cabinet in its meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan yesterday.

The land will be allotted to IIT Indore on an annual lease rent of Re 1 per year.

Sources said that the remaining 70.52 acres of land would be allotted to the hallowed institute after acquisitioning the same from farmers for which the process is underway.

Indore is the only city in the country having both an IIT and an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in its fold.
