Bhopal’s 200 kilometer long roads to be renovated

Bhopal: Various roads of Bhopal city measuring 200 kilometers will be renovated for the convenience of citizens. As per wish of people of Kolar area, initiative will be taken to merge Kolar Municipality into Bhopal Municipal Corporation. This was said by Urban Administration & Development Minister Shri Babulal Gaur while laying foundation stone for Barkhera Pathani-Laharpur Road here today.
Minister Shri Gaur informed that the State Government launched a number of development and public welfare schemes during last 9 years. Under Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Free Medicine Distribution Scheme launched in the state today, patients undergoing treatment at government hospitals will be provided medicines free of cost. The Urban Administration Minister said that schemes worth about Rs. 1,000 crore are underway for Bhopal city’s development.
Mayor Smt. Krishna Gaur said that residents of seven villages and a number of residential colonies will get facility of smooth flow of traffic after construction of Barkhera Pathani-Laharpur Road. Besides Narmada water, residents of Barkhera Pathani will also get health facilities soon.
PWD Executive Engineer Shri Sanjay Khande informed that 15 bridges and culverts will be constructed on 6.60 kilometer long Barkhera Pathani-Laharpur Road to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 8 crore 80 lakh. Road’s 2.5 kilometer stretch will be four-lane and 4.10 kilometer two-lane. Corporator Shri Narayan Singh Pal also addressed the function.
Corporators Smt. Chandramukhi and Shri Kishan Churendra, PWD Superintending Engineer Shri Akhilesh Upadhyay, people’s representatives and a large number of local residents were present on the occasion.
