Beti Bachao Week starts from 5th Ocotober

Bhopal: Beti Bachao Week will be observed in Madhya Pradesh from October 5 to 11. In view of Daughters’ Day on October 5 and International Girl Child Day on October 11, the State Government has decided to organise various activities in this period. The State Government has issued directives in this regard to all the district collectors.
During the Beti Bachao Week, a state-level function will be chaired by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. District-level functions will be held in the presence of minister in-charge of district. Block-level programmes will be organised in the presence of distinguished citizens and people’s representatives. Three media persons each will be awarded on October 5 at the district level for publishing news and articles for creating positive effects. As per directives given earlier, Only Daughter’s Parents Clubs will be constituted. Process to constitute clubs will get underway from October 5.
The Government has decided to honour those families having one girl child at all the government functions. The girls who have achieved special success in education, sports and cultural fields will also be felicitated at government functions. Directives have been given to start process of honouring the parents and daughters especially during the Beti Bachao Week. It will also be ensured in future that before commencement of every function, all the participants take oath to save daughters. Directives have been given to compile lists of the persons and institutions taking the pledge.
On the lines of Madhya Pradesh Gaan, the State Government is getting prepared a song focusing on daughters. It will be sent to districts soon. Collectors have been directed that like Madhya Pradesh Gaan, all the government functions should be started with Daughters’ Song in future. Successful projects under Beti Bachao Abhiyan like Project Khushi of Khandwa district, Sambal Cards of Balaghat district and Samman Patra to only daughter’s families of Narsinghpur district should be implemented in other districts also with local resources by October 5, 2012.
It is noteworthy that Beti Bachao Abhiyan was launched on October 5, 2011 on the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. It is in this context that the State Government has decided to observe Beti Bachao Week in the state from October 5. Directives were given to give further fillip to this campaign during commissioner-collector conference held from September 8 to 10.
