Anna Utsav to be celebrated in state every month

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Anna Utsav will be celebrated on 7th day of every month in Madhya Pradesh. On this day, poor persons will be provided wheat and iodised salt at Re. 1 per kg and rice at Rs. 2 per kg. He said that extremely strict action will be taken if any irregularity is found in food grains distribution to the poor. Shri Chouhan has also directed the divisional commissioners and district collectors to ensure that the poor get food grains of their quota. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing launch function of Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana’s second phase here today.

Shri Chouhan said that he will develop Madhya Pradesh in such a way that no one will remain poor in the state. He said that the State Government will ensure every possible effort to improve living standard of the poor. The State Government has decided that along with development of big cities, arrangements should also be made for the poor. For this, houses costing upto Rs. 3 lakh each will be provided to the poor of which Rs. 70 thousand will be subsidy. Pattas of government land occupied by the poor will be given to them. Shri Chouhan said that Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana has begun a new revolution. The poor also have right on resources. A good government is that helps those lagging behind in the race for development. Madhya Pradesh is pioneer in the country in growth rate. But development is meaningless unless its benefits reach shanties of the poor. Efforts are being made in the state to increase income of everyone. Rs. 1000 crore will be spent on Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana for the benefit of the poor. The State Government has held panchayats of every section of society and chalked out schemes as per their requirements. He said that arrangements of scholarships, free uniforms and cycles have been made for students. All citizens should educate their children.
Presiding over the function, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Shri Paras Jain said that arrangements have been made under Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana for providing whole month’s ration in one day’s wages. The scheme will benefit 74 lakh ration card holders. The State Government will also provide sugar on subsidised rates.
At the function, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan distributed food grains as a token to some beneficiaries. Urban Administration & Development Minister Shri Babulal Gaur, ex-CM and Bhopal MP Shri Kailash Joshi, Bhopal Zila Panchayat President Smt. Meena Himmat Goyal, Mayor Smt. Krishna Gaur, MLAs Shri Dhruvnarayan Singh, Shri Vishwas Sarang, Chairman of Food & Civil Supplies Corporation Shri Ramesh Sharma, Chairman of Minerals Development Corporation Shri Rameshwar Sharma, Pharmacy Council President Shri Basant Gupta, Bhopal BJP President Shri Alok Sharma and large number of citizens were present on the occasion.
