Amount sanctioned for 5 irrigation projects in 4 districts of state

BHOPAL: The Government has making constant efforts to increase the irrigated land in the state. For that purpose administrative sanctions have been accorded in four districts of the state.

The name of the districts includes Dhar, Rajgarh, Neemuch and Shajapur.

The amount sanctioned for the projects is estimated to be Rs. 439 crore 86 lakh for 5 irrigation projects in four districts of the state.

The following are the amounts awarded for each irrigation project
• Uribagh medium irrigation project in Kukshi area of Dhar district has been awarded Rs. 183 crore 60 lakh. It proposes to irrigate 5500 hectare Rabi crop area.
• Minor irrigation project to be established at Moondla in Rajgarh district has been awarded Rs. 57 crore 50 lakh. The project will irrigate 3430 hectare area including 1990 hectare Rabi and 1140 hectare Kharif crops.
• Bankpur small irrigation project in Rajgarh district, which will irrigate 3240 hectare area including 1990 hectare Rabi and 1250 Kharif crops has been awarded Rs. 54 crore 97 lakh.
• Thikriya medium irrigation project in Neemuch district has been awarded Rs. 77 crore 32 lakh. It will cover about 2050 hectare area.
• Keetkheri small irrigation project in Susner area of Shajapur district has been awarded Rs. 66 core 77 lakh The project will irrigate 3350 area annually including 3000 hectare Rabi and 350 hectare Kharif crops.
