All schools should have fiscal literacy: Chief secretary
Bhopal. Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa has said that fiscal literacy should be expanded to all higher secondary schools in the state. Arrangements for training of this should be made immediately after identifying resource persons. Shri de Sa was addressing a meeting of State Level Bankers’ Committee here today. It is noteworthy that the Central Government has launched a pilot project for fiscal literacy in Gujarat, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh. Under it, students from class VIII to XII will be apprised of preliminary information about banking system, fiscal vocabulary and management. Presently, 5100 schools in the state have been identified for it. CS directed to ensure necessary arrangements for fiscal literacy in all higher secondary schools in the state.
The meeting reviewed social security schemes, Pradhan Mantri, Grameen Aawas Mission, Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Yojana, Arthik Kalyan Yojana, self-help groups and activities under Rural Livelihoods Mission. The meeting was also given information about implementation of schemes for relief to farmers affected by natural calamities.
CS directed to accelerate pace of disposal of cases under Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Yojana. Shri de Sa said that most of beneficiaries of government schemes are being provided funds through banks. The banks should ensure that there is no delay or difficulty to beneficiaries to get these funds. ACS Finance Shri A.K. Shrivastava, ACD Panchayats & Rural Development Smt. Aruna Sharma and officers of all lead banks in the state attended the meeting.
