70 teams on joint campaign to control malaria-dengue in Bhopal

Bhopal: As many as 70 teams comprising 700 officers and employees are on joint campaign to control malaria and dengue in Bhopal city. Apart from advising people, these teams are also making available necessary medicines to hospitals. The teams comprise staff of Health & Family Welfare, AYUSH and Gas Relief departments and municipal corporation. Principal Secretary Shri Praveer Krishna has directed Chief Health and Medical Officers to ensure control and prevention of these as well as seasonal diseases.

District-level monitoring and vigilance teams to be constituted

Apart from appointment of one sector in-charge in every village with 5000 population, the Principal Secretary has also directed to constitute district-level monitoring and vigilance teams. He instructed for comprehensive review of treatment etc. in disease-prone areas and make available necessary medicines in all health centres. Shri Krishna has directed to activate ASHA workers in this drive and immediately communicate information about disease.

Apart form the Principal Secretary, Health Commissioner Shri Pankaj Agrawal and other officers also visited various localities of Bhopal and took stock of the situation. The Principal Secretary has directed to work by chalking out an action plan for effective control over disease.

It is noteworthy that 4 control rooms are operational in Bhopal at Kolar community hall, Jaiprakash Hospital, Katju Hospital and Govindpura dispensary. Regional control room has been set up at J.P. Hospital whose in-charge is Dr. A.K. Awasthi. His mobile number is 9827056443.
