16 Confirmed Dengue Cases in Bhopal
Bhopal: 16 cases of dengue have been reported from various parts of the state capital, say media reports citing a health department official said Monday.
The cases were confirmed by ELISA tests conducted at the local Gandhi Medical College, they said while adding that health officials were optimistic of the virus restricting its spread due to changes in the spread pattern.
“Normally, it is presumed that dengue that hits a colony or area affects 50-100 families in a row but this time it is not so. It is just hitting one or two persons at a particular place,” the official was quoted as saying.
The department is soon to initiate steps to combat water-logging in high risk slums in and around the city.
Madhya Pradesh has so far reported eight deaths due to the disease, the reports added.
