CM’s vision has eased Covid crisis situation

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s vision, timely decisions and determination has finally controlled the second wave of Covid-19 before it could turn into a disaster.

Doctors, health workers, Aanganbadi workers, assistants under the Health Department and officials and employees of all the departments also fulfilled their duties with devotion and diligence, an official communication said on Wednesday.

This is why the deadly second wave of the pandemic has come to rest in Chhattisgarh, one of the worst hit states.

Better management and treatment facilities led to speedy recovery of patients. Provision of free Covid medicine kits at home to symptomatic patients in urban and rural areas yielded positive results.

After a serious outbreak of Covid, kits of medicines recommended by expert doctors were distributed door-to-door by health workers in rural areas.

People were given a prescription for home isolation along with directions for consumption of the medicines. The government significantly improved the corona testing capacity as well as the health facilities. The number of sample testing per day has crossed 70,000. While a total of 8.33 lakh people have recovered from Covid so far, presently 85,868 people are being treated for corona infection.

There are 37 Dedicated Covid Hospitals and 154 Covid Care Centres in the state. As many as 526 ventilators are available in government hospitals and 625 in private hospital.

Financial aid of more than Rs 73 crores has been given to the districts for treatment of Covid patients and to help the needy.

Chhattisgarh ranks sixth in the country in vaccinating citizens above 45 years and third in the country in vaccinating health workers.
