India Issues Advisory against Visiting Australia

Indian government has issued a new advisory, asking Indians students not to go to Australia for now, reported NDTV.

The action came in the wake of reports of 10 more attacks on Indians in separate cases in Brisbane and Melbourne.

External Affairs Minister SM Krishna met his Australian counterpart in London earlier this week and asked him to curb the ‘unprovoked attacks’. Last year, over 100 Indians were attacked in Australia.

Australian government has formed a special committee to look into the attacks and also handed over to India a dossier containing information on the attacks.

Commenting on the dossier, Krishna had said, “The dossier is silent on whether all attacks were racially motivated. Smith had no answer when I asked why Indians only were being attacked.”
