One of the Two Accused Held in Russian Girl Rape Case
In nine-year-old Russian girl rape case in Goa, one of the two accused, Anil Raghuvanshi, who had allegedly engaged the victim’s mother in a conversation while the crime was being committed, has been arrested, reported PTI citing police.
Raghuvanshi, who is in his thirties, was arrested from a bus stop in Panaji in the morning, said Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ravindra Yadav, report said.
Yadav said that Raghuvanshi is one of the two accused in the case, while main accused, Aman Bharadwaj, was still absconding, said report.
Yadav said that Raghuvanshi was being quizzed and only after the interrogation was over, it would be decided if he was mere accomplice in the crime or was involved in it, said report.
Raghuvanshi hails from Madhya Pradesh’s Hoshangabad district, Yadav was quoted as saying.
A nine-year-old Russian girl, holidaying in Goa with her mother, was raped allegedly by Aman Bharadwaj on Arambol beach on January 26. His accomplice Raghuvanshi diverted the mother’s attention by striking a conversation with her.
