CM Shri Chouhan inaugurates Sanjay Sagar irrigation project in Vidisha

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated Sanjay Sagar (Wah) medium irrigation project at village Naharyai in Shamshabad tahsil of Vidisha district today. On the occasion, a block-level Antyodaya Mela was also organised where cheques for benefits worth Rs. 14 crore 17 lakh 45 thousand were distributed to 17 thousand 669 beneficiaries. Total 136 construction works including Sanjay Sagar Dam were inaugurated at the fair. Besides, the Chief Minister also laid foundation stone of 37 construction works.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the State Government will leave no stone unturned for development and public welfare works. Underlining efforts to make agriculture profitable, Shri Chouhan said that the state has been bestowed national Krishi Karman Award as a result of these efforts. He said that Sanjay Sagar is a major gift to the district in irrigation sector.
Shri Chouhan said that construction of Sangarh Dam will also be completed shortly. He also threw light on new youth policy framed in the state to ensure employment to youths. He said that 50 percent jobs will be provided to local youths in the industries to be set up in Bhopal-Bina industrial corridor.
The Chief Minister visited various stalls at the fair and benefited the beneficiaries. Letters of intent were also prepared at the fair by private companies to provide jobs to 193 educated youths at Employment Fair held on the occasion.
Finance Minister Shri Raghavji, in-charge Minister Shri Karan Singh Verma, Public Relations Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma, MLAs and other public representatives were present on the occasion. MP Shri Bhupendra Singh and MLA Shri Suryaprakash Meena also addressed the programme.
