Tiwari claimed no talks been take place between Digvijay Singh and Hemant Karkare

BHOPAL: A Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader claimed here on Monday that there were no phone calls between Congress leader Digvijay Singh and slain anti-terror squad chief Hemant Karkare on Nov 26, 2008, the day of the Mumbai terror attack.

B.L. Tiwari, a senior VHP leader in the state on Monday countered the claim and showed papers he said he received through the Right to Information Act.

“I claim that no talks took place between Digvijay Singh and Hemant Karkare Nov 26, 2008 on phone number 9425015461,” said Tiwari.

He said, “The postpaid number is in the name of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee and Digvijay Singh could not even get details of the calls made from it.”

The papers he showed included letters from Digvijay Singh to the general manager of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited in Bhopal and the reply to him that said the call details were enclosed. But did not present the call details along with the letters.
