Liquor Shops Located on Banks of River Narmada will not be Auctioned: CM

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that liquor shops located in the villages on the banks of River Narmada will not be auctioned from next year. Efforts will be made to make villages addiction free by administrating pledge to the people of the villages. CM Shri Chouhan was addressing the ‘Namami Devi Narmade” Seva Yatra at Ramnagar in Mandla today. He further mentioned that women will be empowered through self help groups. He also told the villagers to pay attention towards the education of girls. Shri Chouhan along with his wife Smt. Sadhana Singh performed Pooja- Archana and Sandhya Aarti of Maa Narmada in presence of Religious Heads.

CM Shri Chouhan said that mining activities will be banned in the hills of Amarkantak. Giving message to keep Narmada water clean, he told the villagers to construct toilet at each house of every village situated on the banks of River Narmada.

Moreover, Shri Chouhan distributed certificates for declaring 44 gram panchayats of the district free of open defecation, I.S.O. certificate to Jila Panchayat and Insurance claims cheques under the Pradhanmantri Jan-Dhan yojna. He also distributed registration certificates to the farmers who have adopted organic farming.

Minister for Forest Dr. Gourishankar Shejwar said that implementation on message given by Sadhu-Sants for environment conservation and plantation is being started. Mantras of Narmada have become slogans of the yatra.

Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste said that the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has done a remarkable work of environment and river conservation by conducting yatra. Minister in charge of district Shri Sanjay-Satyendra Pathak informed about the public welfare schemes being implemented in the state. Sadhvi Pragya Bharti mentioned that beside Narmada acclamation, work to conserve Narmada is to be undertaken. Sant Shri Bhaiyya Ji Sarkar said that Narmada seva yatra is spreading message for water conservation in country and abroad as well. People of all the castes and religions is undertaking yatra for Narmada conservation.

At the beginning Shri Chouhan and Public Representatives performed Pooja-Archana of Maa Narmada. Dharmagurus and sadhu-sants present on the occasion were honoured with shawl and shriphal.

Vice President of Jan Abhiyan Parishad Shri Pradeep Pandey and Shri Raghvendra Gautam, Chairman Tribal Finance Development Corporation Shri Shivraj Shah, MLA Shri Pandit Singh Dhurve and Shri Rampyare Kulaste were present. Chairman Jila Panchayat Smt. Sampatiya Uikey gave vote of thanks.
