CBI Says, No Sharing of Aarushi Cell Phone Details

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday refused to divulge details it recovered from slain teenager Aarushi Talwar’s mobile phone, which was recently traced some 16 months after the young dipsite and her domestic help Hemraj were found brutally murdered at her Noida residence.

`Investigation is in progress. Keeping in view the interest of a fair and impartial investigation and also directions of the Supreme Court, the CBI does not propose to share any details with the media at this stage,` said CBI spokesperson Harsh Bahal.

The black Nokia N72 phone, a crucial piece of evidence in the case, was recovered from Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr town by the Delhi Police Crime Branch on Saturday.

Media reports citing Bulandshahr SP (City) JK Sahi said a woman, who once worked as a domestic help for the Talwar family, had passed the phone to a resident of the Uttar Pradesh town.

The sleuths however admitted that the recovery of the mobile phone had provided them with a `ray of hope` for solving the double murder that has repeatedly led investigators to a dead end.
