Govt. and society can manage resources in better way: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that management and planning of resources is necessary for development. Every citizen has equal right on resources, be him poor or rich. Only society and government can ensure better management of resources.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing concluding session of a state-level workshop on district resource atlas at Vigyan Bhavan here today. He inaugurated Hindi version of resource atlases of Tikamgarh, Datia, Jhabua and Alirajpur districts and guidelines booklet for Sagar district. The district resource atlases have been prepared by Madhya Pradesh Council for Science & Technology with the cooperation of Centre for Policy Studies, New Delhi. The Planning Commission of India has lauded the initiative of preparing district resource atlases.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that meaning of development is not confined to increase or decrease in growth rate only. Development should be balanced.
Science & Technology Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Madhya Pradesh and Science & Technology Department is now considered better as compared to other states. He said that departmental budget has increased manifold. It will be increased further. He expressed gratitude towards scholars associated with preparation of district resources atlases.
Shri Suresh Soni said understanding of resources is necessary to understand country and state. He said that one-way development cannot last long. Development is long-lasting when society increases its awareness level regarding all aspects of development.
Indian Economic Journal Managing Editor and famous intellectual Dr. V.R. Panchmukhi said that Madhya Pradesh has done laudable work of preparing district resource atlases for increasing understanding regarding use of resources.
Throwing light on utility of district resource atlases, Centre of Policy Studies Director Shri J.K. Bajaj discussed strategy adopted to prepare them, research, technique and authentic sources.
Director-General of Council for Science & Technology Shri Pramod Kumar Verma informed that the Planning Commission has lauded the initiative to prepare district resource atlases. He informed that this atlas will also be available on website soon.
