Pak Asks India for Exact Details to Destroy Terror Infrastructure

For destruction of terrorist structure, Pakistan has asked India to give its exact details of terrorist terror camps being run on its soil by outlawed extremist outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), said media reports.

Pointing out that Islamabad has already banned LeT, foreign office spokesperson Abdul Basit told a visiting Indian media delegation that New Delhi should give details regarding 42 terrorist outfits which it claims are functioning across the Line of Control (LoC), reports said.

“We are telling them to tell us where these camps are, if you know about them tell us, but when we ask them for details, they don’t come up with any,” Basit was quoted as saying.

In reference to remarks from India that Pakistan-based terrorists want to make another Mumbai type terror attack, he said that India should share information regarding any such activity with Pakistan to enable it to take action on time, said reports.

“When the Indian Prime Minister or Home Minister says so, they must be saying it on the basis of some information. Share that with us, so that we can pre-empt. Our request is to share any information, intelligence about it to enable us to take action,” Basit was quoted as saying by The Daily Times.

He also said that the two countries should jointly work for elimination of terrorism from the region instead of blaming each other for the menace and that Pakistan does not have any evidence of linkages between the Al Qaeda and the LeT, reports said.

Basit expressed hope of a meeting between Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani on the sidelines of the forthcoming South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit in Bhutan, which is scheduled to be held on April 28 -29.

He said that the ‘likely’ meeting could help in reviving the stalled composite dialogue between both countries.

“Bhutan is not yet a missed opportunity. We still have time and we are in touch diplomatically. However, no formal meeting has been planned yet,” Basit was quoted as saying.
