Red-shirt Protesters Deny Involvement in Grenade Attack in Bangkok

Thai red-shirt protestors have denied any involvement in grenade attacks in the capital Bangkok, in which one person was killed and several others injured, reported Voice of America.

Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban had claimed that the grenade, which targeted a commercial area, was fired from an anti-government camp, report said.

However, the red-shirt protestors denied that they fired the grenade, saying they only shot fireworks into the sky, said report.

“You supposed to come here to find evidence first, you know, before you say something,” Amnuay who works at a nearby hotel and supports the protests was quoted as saying, “He just said right away, you know, one hour after the bombs. He said right away that the bomb came from us.”

In the morning, police moved away from red-shirt barricades easing off tensions, report said.

It is expected that Military will soon use force soon to clear the protesters, who have occupied an upscale commercial area for weeks. They demand that the government step down and call new elections.
