Bhopal police organises women empowerment camp

Women empowerment camp organized by Bhopal Police Commissionerate in collaboration with Bachpan Sanstha in Gautam Nagar area, Police Station Srijan-6, concluded today; it was special initiative in the direction of women’s safety and women’s empowerment, to empower girls of weaker sections and for employment.

On the occasion of the conclusion of the creation camp, Deputy Police Commissioner Headquarters Vineet Kapoor said that the kind of self-confidence that has come in these girls after training will definitely work as a change agent in their community in their locality.

She herself will not be a victim of domestic violence, sexual abuse and will not allow domestic violence and sexual abuse to happen around her. Along with this, by taking advantage of the inspiration given to these girls to move forward by various police trainers and other scholars, they can also play a good role in making their families strong and alert in their lives and in increasing self-reliance. Such girls will get the benefit of training when they go to look for police recruitment or other jobs.

For 15 days in the creation camp, adolescent girls from weaker sections were provided training on subjects related to self-enrichment and capacity development and security, self-protection. Career counseling was done to them and training was also provided in view of the upcoming police recruitment examination.

Such girls or women, who are often victims of domestic violence or sexual abuse while living in slums, were told about good touch, bad touch and how to make themselves capable and empowered and to develop capability. The way they should build themselves, training was also given in this regard.

Bhopal Police Commissionerate is doing specific work in the field of community policing, under which special attention is being given using community policing in women empowerment and under this, Bhopal Police Commissionerate has been continuously working for the last one year. Empowering and making girls aware by organizing programs by taking innovative initiatives is done. In this sequence, a total of 6 creation programs have been organized so far, in which about 600 girls from weaker sections have been benefited.

Positive results of the said initiative of Bhopal Police Commissionerate have also started coming. There has been a considerable reduction in the incidents of domestic violence and harassment in the slums, as well as the women / girls with whom the incident has happened, due to awareness, they are fearlessly coming to the police station to report and have become empowered against violence.
